چکیده
Background & Aims Bacterial infections (BI) affect the natural course of cirrhosis and were suggested to be a landmark event marking transition decompensated stage. Our specific aim was evaluate impact BI on history compensated cirrhosis. Methods We analyzed 858 patients with cirrhosis, evaluated for INCA trial (EudraCT 2013-001626-26) in 2 academic medical centers between February 2014 May 2019. Only previously disease included. They divided into 4 groups: without BI, 1st decompensation BI. Results 425 (median 61 [53-69] years) included final prospective analysis. At baseline, 257 (12 [4.7%] BI), whereas 168 presented their (42 [25.0%] BI). In who remained MELD scores similar those Patients first had higher than Amongst compensated, no influence transplant-free survival, concurrent significantly reduced survival as compared The development or during follow-up greater each these complications at baseline. Evaluation of antibacterial effect of green tea extract on bacterial isolated from patients with vaginal infection
Introduction: Vaginitis is an inflammatory and infectious disease in human host that involved vaginal mucosa. Increase of resistance to various antibacterial agent has been very significant in three or four recent decades and this important subject reveals the use of new and natural sources such as plants with medical and antimicrobial property for eradication of these infections. Therefore, th...

INTRODUCTION. Bacterial infection in cirrhotic patients is a severe complication that requires early recognition and specific therapeutic care. MATERIAL AND METHODS. In this review the various aspects of diagnosis and management of infections that may impact survival in cirrhosis are analyzed. RESULTS. Active search for infections allows early detection and its treatment with suitable antibioti...
متن کاملSerum Sphingolipid Variations Associate with Hepatic Decompensation and Survival in Patients with Cirrhosis
BACKGROUND Sphingolipids constitute bioactive molecules with functional implications in liver homeostasis. Particularly, ablation of very long chain ceramides in a knockout mouse model has been shown to cause a severe hepatopathy. METHODS We aimed to evaluate the serum sphingolipid profile of 244 patients with cirrhosis prospectively followed for a median period of 228±217 days via mass spect...
متن کاملAlpha-fetoprotein has no prognostic role in small hepatocellular carcinoma identified during surveillance in compensated cirrhosis.
UNLABELLED Alpha-fetoprotein is a tumor marker that has been used for surveillance and diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients with cirrhosis. The prognostic capability of this marker in patients with HCC has not been clearly defined. In this study our aim was to evaluate the prognostic usefulness of serum alpha-fetoprotein in patients with well-compensated cirrhosis, optimal pe...
متن کاملInvestigation on outcomes and bacterial distributions of liver cirrhosis patients with gram-negative bacterial bloodstream infection
Objective The study aimed at analyzing the epidemiology and outcomes of liver cirrhosis patients undergoing gram-negative bacterial bloodstream infection. Results Totally 508 eligible patients were collected, with 25.79% 30-day mortality, and 58.86% patients were confirmed as nosocomial infection. The most common isolates were Escherichia coli (48.29%) and Klebsiella pneumoniae (19.29%), and ...
